President’s Meeting with Attorney General Yields No New Revelations, Says Justice Minister

In a brief post-meeting update, Justice Minister Advocate Harshana Nanayakkara stated that nothing noteworthy was discussed during President Anura Kumara Dissanayake’s meeting with Attorney General Parinda Ranasinghe, which concluded around 4:00 p.m. yesterday.

Addressing the media, Nanayakkara emphasized that the details of the discussion remain confidential and added that any further information would be communicated through the Cabinet Spokesperson if deemed necessary.

This development comes amid widespread public anticipation that the President might take decisive action regarding the Attorney General’s position. Many citizens had expected a swift intervention—potentially a direct order for resignation or an immediate dismissal—yet, for now, the administration remains tight-lipped.

As the nation waits for the next move from the President, the focus remains on the Attorney General’s future and the unfolding political dynamics.
