Jaffna University Students Protest Independence Day, Replace National Flag with Black Flag

Students from Jaffna University organized a protest today in front of the university, voicing their opposition to the Independence Day celebrations. 

Calling the day a "black day" for the Tamil community, the demonstrators carried black flags and held placards condemning policies they believe are harmful to Tamils in Sri Lanka. 

As part of their protest, they took down the national flag that was raised on campus and replaced it with a black flag.
