The Anuradhapura Magistrate's Court has issued an arrest warrant for Member of Parliament Ramanathan Archuna, following allegations of obstructing the duties of traffic police officers in the Anuradhapura area.
The court has instructed the Anuradhapura Police to enforce the arrest order and report their progress by February 3rd. The directive comes after the police presented evidence in court, detailing MP Archuna's actions that allegedly interfered with the work of traffic officers.
Speaking on the matter, Police Media Spokesperson Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Buddhika Manathunga confirmed the court's decision and reiterated the commitment to upholding the law.
Investigations into the incident are ongoing, and the police are expected to provide a detailed report to the court as directed.
