In a series of recent resignations, N.B.M. Ranatunga has stepped down from his position as Chairman of the National Housing Development Authority (NHDA). Ranatunga, who was appointed to the position on October 10, 2024, served for only three months. His office confirmed that a resignation letter has been submitted to the relevant Minister, and reports indicate that the letter contains a detailed explanation for his decision.
This resignation follows two other recent departures from key public sector positions. Ramal Siriwardena resigned as Chairman of the Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) on January 29th, and Dr. Senesh Bandara resigned as Chairman of the Sri Lanka Rupavahini Corporation (SLRC) on December 24th.
