Former CPC MD arrested over alleged misuse of Rs. 6.1 Mn

A former Managing Director of the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) has been arrested by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) over the alleged misappropriation of Rs. 6.1 million. The arrest took place in Malabe, as confirmed by Police Spokesman SSP Buddhika Manathunga.

This development follows the earlier arrest of former Minister Anura Priyadarshana Yapa and his wife by the CID, also in connection with the alleged misappropriation of the same amount from the CPC.

The CID is conducting further investigations into the matter.
