Bribery Commission Launches Separate Probe into Namal Rajapaksa Over Krish Financial Fraud


The case concerning alleged financial irregularities amounting to Rs. 70 million in the leasing of 4.3 acres of land at the Krish Transworks Square in Fort, Colombo, was taken up at the Fort Magistrate's Court on the 22nd.

Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna Parliamentarian Namal Rajapaksa, named as a suspect in the case and released on bail, appeared in open court during the proceedings.

During the hearing, investigating officers informed the court that the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption has initiated a separate investigation into Namal Rajapaksa regarding the same incident.

After reviewing the presented facts, Fort Magistrate Nilupuli Lankapura directed the case, currently handled by the Criminal Investigation Department, to be recalled on the 4th of June for further advice from the Attorney General.
